2025 Picnic Pavilion applications
Applications are Open
The annual Vancouver International Flamenco Festival, produced by Flamenco Rosario, presents local, national, and international Flamenco dance and music performances.
We are inviting local flamenco dance artists and groups (from across BC) to apply to perform at our free outdoor event at the Picnic Pavilion stage on Granville Island.
Performance dates/times
September 20—21, 2—6pm
Each group will...
Perform a 30—35 minute piece
Receive a perfomance fee
~ a letter of interest
~ a high-resolution photo of you dancing or your work
~ a video link of the proposed work (a video excerpt of the work will be accepted if it is not yet a full 30 mins. If you can only provide rehearsal footage of the work you wish to present, please also submit a link to past work in performance.)
~ a short description with approximate length, number of performers and all technical requirements for your musicians
Things to note about the event before applying:
Priority will be given to artists who apply for the first time or have not apply for several years. Artists who have participated few years in a row can still apply and will be considered, however, those who have been accepted for four consecutive years may not be eligible for this edition.
Performances are informal and in an outdoor, sheltered space.
Your musicians will have 15 minutes to soundcheck directly before your performance slot.
The green room is close to the stage, but not in the same space. Quick changeovers or costume changes could prove difficult as the performance space is open-air.
The stage in feet is 24x16x2. We recommend no more than 4 dancers (musicians, including palmas, excepted) on the stage due to stage size and for safety.
Send your application to: applyflamencorosario@gmail.com
*DEADLINE JUNE 16, 2025* Successful applicants will be notified by mid July.
